Dr Marisa Taylor is a Consultant Dermatologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She is a member of various societies including the British Association of Dermatologists, Royal College of Physicians London, Caribbean Dermatology Association and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
She qualified in 2002 from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus in Jamaica and completed the majority of her dermatology training in South Wales, UK. She achieved distinctions in Cardiff University’s diploma and masters in Clinical Dermatology and a Doctor of Medicine degree in acne, light sources and lasers. Between publishing papers and clinical letters she was a tutor for Cardiff University’s Diplomas in Clinical and Practical Dermatology and a Supervisor for doctors pursuing a Masters in Clinical Dermatology. She continues to be a reviewer for journals such as the British Journal of Dermatology and Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
In addition to her strong academic and research background, her clinical expertise lies in medical dermatology for both adults and children, skin of colour, skin surgery, lasers and light sources.
Her newest interest is in developing aesthetic dermatology not only as an additional tool to offer a complete service to her patients but also as a source of collaboration with other educators to embed this firmly in the realm of dermatology.
