Dr Christina Leitner

Since 2011, Dr Leitner has been working in dermatology in NHS hospitals around Manchester, in Cambridge and the West Midlands and as consultant dermatologist in Wales and the Midlands, Worcester (from 2017). Dr Leitner has always been motivated to support teaching and training of junior health professionals in the NHS. She focussed solely on Health Education during a one year fellowship. During this year and throughout her dermatology specialist training, Dr Leitner contributed to research studies and presented at scientific conferences. Early in training it became clear that her main interest was in dermatological surgery and skin cancer whilst she also enjoyed maintaining her knowledge in inflammatory skin conditions. Dr Leitner was successful with securing a fellowship in dermatological surgery, skin cancer and Mohs Micrographic Surgery. During this year she also worked with various lasers treating vascular lesions and excessive hair growth. Subsequently, she became skin cancer multidisciplinary team lead at the Worcestershire NHS Hospitals Trust. Whilst working in general dermatology and skin cancer services, she has always been driven to cover the entire scope of dermatology including aesthetic dermatology and skin ageing. Dr Leitner pursued a Masters in Skin Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine at the University of Manchester (2016-2019) I see adults for inflammatory skin conditions (Acne, psoriasis, eczema and other rashes), alopecia, pigment disturbances and excessive sweating and for mole checks, suspected skin cancers or other lumps and bumps on or under the skin that may require surgical intervention. I also advise on aesthetic, minimally invasive procedures.
