Dr Eugene Ong is a UK-trained dermatologist and European board certified skin pathologist who works as an NHS consultant at St George’s Hospital, London. He consults on all aspects of dermatology, including general dermatology and skin surgery. His special interests include male genital dermatology, moles, acne, psoriasis, eczema and skin cancer.
He graduated from Oxford University with an MB ChB and BA in Medical Sciences, and trained at Chelsea Westminster and University College London hospitals, and St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. He undertook a two year fellowship in skin pathology at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, and was elected British Society of Dermatopathology trainee representative and BAD dermatology co-trainee representative.
He sits on the editorial advisory board for the CED journal, and has published 18 peer-reviewed articles for high impact journals like the JAAD and has appeared on BBC News and Radio for his work. He is a lecturer and founder of the BAD “Dermatopathology Made Easy” course. He has won a number of national awards, including the LD Path Dermatopathology Cup first prize at the BAD national conference and for his teaching.
